We direct a tremendous amount of time, love, and education towards the youth in the community, as well as work hard to improve the overall quality of life for all community residents. In order for our mission to be a success we need a cooperative effort from volunteers, churches, ministries, corporate partners and thousands of volunteers.

Ways to Serve:
- After-school tutoring: Commit to tutoring a student on the same day of the week, once per week, from 3-5:30 pm.
- Mentor a child: Volunteers will spend four hours of one-on-one time with the child and call the child on a weekly basis. To learn more about mentoring, please contact mentor@generationone.net
- For Small Groups – Neighborhood Revitalization: Sign up to come to the Third Ward and mow, pick up trash, or scrape and paint a house. Group leaders can call or email to arrange a work day and project for their group, or individuals willing to serve can be paired with an existing group. Some of the projects are free and some require materials and/or a donation to cover the cost of material.
- Random acts of service: There are a million ways to serve with us! We have volunteers help in our library, with administration/secretarial duties in our office, with meals (ie. an after church luncheon), hosting programs (ie. Christmas), with maintenance on our building and vehicles...the list goes on and on. We have found that sometimes the Lord presses on someone a specific way they would like to help, and we then help to facilitate that desire to serve in a way that best fits our people.

Ways to Pray:
- For the Lord to continue to break the cycle of generational poverty
- For the protection and salvation of the kids and families we work with
- For the safety of our volunteers
- For more and more people to volunteer with Generation One
- For wisdom over our director and staff to be the best stewards of what the Lord has entrusted to us
