If you’ve been to GBC on a Sunday, you’re certainly aware that our congregation consists of lots of young people, especially young families and singles. As a result, there is a special need for marriage-related ministry at a variety of different levels. In an effort to maintain our focus on discipleship in the context of groups, much of what happens in our Marriage Ministry takes place through small groups.

Upcoming:
Weekend to Remember | May 3-5, Austin | The two-and-a-half day romantic weekend getaway is a time to be together as a couple to invest in and strengthen the foundation of your marriage, no matter how firm or fragile it is. By getting away from the distractions of life, you can fortify your most important relationship and work toward building wonderful memories together, for decades to come. You will listen to engaging talks from marriage experts , then take private time alone with your spouse to work on the concepts you studied.

Marriage Enrichment Retreats: This is an opportunity to get out of the city and travel to Chappell Hill to spend time with a small group of couples (5 total) from GBC. On the retreat we will study Biblical marriage, spend time developing communication and connection as a couple, and build community with other married couples. Each retreat spans two weekends (about 6 weeks apart) and covers topics such as covenant, expectations, family of origin, communication and conflict resolution, spiritual leadership and submission, intimacy, forgiveness, and intentionality. Growth in these areas will be accomplished through a combination of pre-requisite work, group discussion, individual and couple reflection, Bible study, as well as practical application. For more information, please contact Annie Higgins.

Weddings: GBC is available for weddings for couples who have completed a Growth Group and pre-marital counseling. For more information please complete the following Wedding & Premarital Mentoring Request Form. Our Wedding Coordinator, Amy Lorentzen, will contact you following submission of the form.

Premarital Mentoring: This involves meeting with a mentor couple for 10 weeks for discipleship leading up to your wedding day. We ask that you have completed or are currently are involved in a Growth Group before signing up for premarital counseling. If you desire premarital mentoring through GBC, please complete the following Wedding & Premarital Mentoring Request Form. Contact Mike Maddry to learn more.
