Forge for Families

The Forge for Families is a Christ-centered urban ministry that exists to holistically equip families to fulfill their God given potential.

The FORGE focuses on developing the spiritual, academic, and physical aspects of the family through discipling both children and parents. The FORGE campus is in Houston's Third Ward near downtown, a community that faces stark realities such as:

- A median income level of less than $24,000 per household
- 90% of children depend on HISD's free school breakfast and lunch program
- 64% of children live below the poverty line
- 78% of children live in single-parent homes

The FORGE offers high-quality programming opportunities such as after-school enrichment, summer day camp, AAU basketball teams, parent enrichment classes, and other outreach events. Our ministry is highly relational, going deep with individuals and modeling 1 Thessalonians 2:8 NIV- “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”

Ways to Serve

Volunteers needed to help with coaching, mentoring, or tutoring children. We need volunteers to help once a week with the SET (our teen program). Volunteer service days can be arranged for schools, church groups, corporations, or individual groups to help with building maintenance, outdoor planting, and painting! During Thanksgiving volunteers are needed for Boxes of Love and new toys for our Holly Jolly Christmas Store.
