FEBRUARY 2026
Ministry Partners
Africa New Life: ANLM works to see lives transformed through meeting basic needs, to give hope for the future for those living in poverty in Rwanda, and to share the freedom and hope found in Christ. Pray for the new community being developed in Nyanza. That the worship center would draw people closer to the Lord and lead to a vibrant church body that is transforming their community. Pray for more students to receive sponsorship so they can attend school when the building is ready. Pray that the church and community center would be a place where people find hope, healing, and rest.
Bethany Ritter: Works with campus ministry to share the love of Christ to students and faculty and build disciples in north Georgia at Kennesaw State University. Praise God for seven leaders at KSU this year! Pray for the new leaders as they adjust and for the team to work together well. Pray for the Nurses Christian Fellowship chapter that started this past fall to continue to grow in stability and numbers. Pray that God would sustain Bethany and bless the work of ministering to and discipling students at KSU.
The Ilunga Family: Missionaries to Zambia and the Congo. Pray that Alan, Delphine, and the kids enjoy a fruitful time in Houston over the next couple of months as they visit with existing and potential supporters. Ask that their time here would be refreshing to them and helpful to their long-term ministry. Pray that God would protect and provide for those back in Zambia who are shepherded and served by the Ilungas.
Hope Christian Academy: Prospective Christian school to be built in Pakistan. Praise God that alongside GBC another Houston church has committed to seed funding to launch this new school for marginalized children from Christian families in Pakistan. Pray that God would bring more churches and supporters to this effort.
WITHIN THE CHURCH
Spring Small Groups: Pray that those beginning a Spring Small Group in February would have a desire to develop biblical community while being equipped to make disciples and participate in ministry.
Missions Fair Follow-up: Pray that people in our church would proactively participate in ministry and not sit idle on the sidelines. Pray that it would be a cultural norm at GBC for us to talk about the ways we serve and how we see God moving in our city and among the nations. Pray that we would invite our friends to serve together in our community.
AS SCRIPTURE TEACHES US TO PRAY
“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever! It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes (Ps. 118:1, 8, 9). Father, your goodness is manifest in our lives in countless ways. While the world is a fickle friend with failing ways, your love for us is steadfast and enduring. We turn to you for refuge from our greatest enemy - sin. We thank you for your love for us.
