Small Steps is a comprehensive, high-quality early childhood education program serving children in low-income communities of Houston, Texas. For over 28 years, Small Steps has served children and families in poverty by sharing the love of Jesus Christ and preparing them for success in elementary school. Small Steps’ accredited program seeks to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through education and a nurturing environment, laying the foundation for our students to become productive, independent adults. Small Steps builds a strong foundation for student success by offering a high-quality education, social and emotional support, a nurturing Christian environment, nutritious meals, and transportation to children ages two through six. Through operating two preschools serving the Fifth Ward and Gulfton/Sharpstown communities, we create a community of learning and support for our students and families.
